January 2008

Happy New Year to all the Berkshire members and all the others we know from other regions.
2007 seemed to be a good year for us. Here are a few of the events we did throughout the year.
First off was the Classic Car Show at Hambledon which, unfortunately, was very wet.
We had a ride out to visit the Surrey Region where we were greeted by a Tamora on fire. Thanks for a good evening - the place was packed.
LeMans went well but the weather could have been better.
A number of us had a drive out to the Gang On The Green event which turned out to be a mystery tour for some to find the Green.
Rockingham 60 years was very successful as was our visit to Brooklands.
The tunnel run was an early morning start travelling through the tunnels and ending up at The Ace Cafe.
Finally to finish of the year our Christmas dinner was held at The Hatch Gate. I think this went down OK by the emails I received. George Carter won the Maidlow trophy for the second time - this time for his dedication to race a TVR. With lots of hard work he managed to get a podium position. Good luck for next year George. Toby won the competition at the Christmas Dinner which was to guess the correct TVR models from a poster with 17 TVR's on it. He managed 15 and was presented with a trophy.

Thanks to all who have supported the club nights. I think Roly found these really exhilarating.

Best Regards

Graham Maidlow
